Clear insights on finance, banking, business and the economy.

Editorial Policy & Corrections

CapitalScope aims to publish clear, accurate and useful educational explainers about banking, personal finance and the economy. This policy explains our approach to research, corrections and updates.

Research and sourcing

We aim to use primary and authoritative sources wherever practical, including central banks, financial regulators, public institutions, legislation, published financial statements and recognised research. Important factual claims should be traceable to a source that readers can review. Sources may be linked in the article or in a further-reading section.

Accuracy and context

Articles should distinguish established facts from estimates, examples and interpretation. Calculations should state their assumptions. We aim to explain when rules, fees, financial products or economic conditions differ by country, provider or date. General educational articles are not a substitute for checking current official information.

Independence and conflicts

CapitalScope’s articles are intended to educate, not to provide personalised financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Readers should not interpret an explainer as a recommendation to buy or sell a product or security. If sponsorship, affiliate links or other commercial relationships are introduced, the site should disclose them clearly where relevant.

Corrections

We welcome specific, evidence-based reports of factual errors or material omissions. To report one, use the Contact CapitalScope page and comment on the relevant article. Identify the article, describe the statement in question, and provide a credible source or calculation supporting the correction. Comments are public, so do not include private information.

When a report is substantiated, we aim to correct the affected content. Material changes may be reflected in the article’s updated date or in an explanatory note where appropriate. Not every disagreement about interpretation requires a correction, but substantive claims should be reviewed on their evidence.

Updates and limitations

Financial products, laws, rates and economic data can change. Readers should check the date of publication or revision and consult current official sources for time-sensitive information. CapitalScope is a developing publication; this policy describes our editorial aims and should not be read as a guarantee that every article is error-free.
